City o~ San Leandro
Civic Center, 835 E. 14th Street
San Leandro, California 94577
Office of the Mayor 510-577-3356
FAX 510-577-3340
DATE: November 19, 2008
TO: City Council Rules and Communications Committee Members:
Vice Mayor Bill Stephens and Councilmember Diana Souza
FROM: Mayor Tony Santos
At my request, Denice Moughon searched the archives and located the attached City of
San Leandro Newsletter articles from the 1970s and 1980s regarding the late Mayor Val
Gill. Please note that the material contains a list of projects that Val Gill was involved
with during his tenure as Mayor of San Leandro. This information should be helpful to
us when we discuss the matter of naming a City facility in recognition of Mayor Gill.
I would like to suggest that we take this item up at the next City Council Rules
Committee meeting.
Attachments
cc: Interim City Manager Steve Hollister
Interim Assistant City Manager Jacqui Diaz
City Clerk Marian ~Tanda
