Any Police Services Aide and Administrative Specialist-Police in the Police fepartment <br />assigned to the patrol, records or traffic division and who is subject to a rotational schedule <br />may receive for any eight (~) hours holiday worked, one and one-half times (1 '/~) the <br />straight tune rate of pay or compensatory time off at the one and one-half time (l~/z) rate. <br />The employee maybe compensated in payment at the overtime rate for the equivalent of four <br />(~4) hours, and the remaining eight (8) hours of holiday time will remain in the holiday <br />account. In the event the employee elects compensatory time off the accrued time shall be <br />placed in the employee's compensatory time off balance, not to exceed forty (40) hours. The <br />term "compensatory time" refers to that time earned and accrued by working any overtime or <br />holiday. <br />For Police Services Aide or Administrative Specialist-Police employees, compensatory time <br />may be used, and replaced, without regard to frequency of use, as long as the account <br />balance does not exceed forty (40) hours. <br />Once a Police Services Aide or Administrative Specialist-Police employees, compensatory <br />time off balance exceeds forty (40) hours, the employees shall be compensated in pay. <br />A Police Services Aide or Administrative Specialist-Police employee may schedule accrued <br />compensatory time and the Department will schedule a relief employee as available. If not <br />available, the Department will post the vacancy for a volunteer employee to sign for, on an <br />overtime basis. The volunteer employee will only be compensated in pay for the overtime <br />worked at the overtime rate of one and one-half times (1 %2) the hourly rate based on the <br />employee's monthly salary. This process shall be consistent with the San Leandro Police <br />Department sign-up procedures. <br />Section 15. Reallocation of Position <br />An employee in a position reallocated to a lower class shall have the right of either; (1) <br />transfemng to a vacant position in his/her present classification provided the department <br />head into which the transfer is proposed agrees; or (2) continuing in the same position in the <br />lower classification with their salary Y-rated. <br />Section 16. Iniury on Duty <br />When an employee is incapable of performing his work or duties as a result of injuries <br />received or illness arising in the course of his/her employment by the City and receives <br />benefits pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Act, upon the sole discretion of the City <br />Manager, a full-time competitive service employee hired pursuant to the merit personnel <br />program may be granted a leave with an amount of pay equal to the difference between <br />his/her City pay and the Workers' Compensation pay benefit, if any, received by him/her <br />during such incapacity, but not to exceed one (1) year for any one (1) period of such <br />incapacity. <br />Leave granted an employee under the above provisions shall not be considered sick leave or <br />deducted from accumulated sick leave. <br />When an employee has been injured in the line of duty and receives compensation in <br />accordance with the provisions of any Workers' Compensation Act of the State of California, <br />14 <br />
