PUBLIC HEARINGS~ITY COUNCIL <br />Public Hearing Comments are limited to 5 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the <br />Mayor. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it <br />to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names <br />and addresses obtained. <br />None. <br />4. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 3 minutes per speaker, subject to adjustment by the Mayor. <br />When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and submit it to the <br />City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official record of names and <br />addresses obtained. The public is invited to make comments on items of public interest NOT <br />listed on the Agenda. <br />Corina Lopez, President of Best Manor Homeowners Association, addressed the City <br />Council, expressing support for the Council's consideration for banning alcohol in City parks. <br />Ms. Lopez commented that the ban, with an exception for either City or non-City sponsored <br />events with prior approval by the City Council, would make the City's parks safer. <br />Rose Johnson, Executive Director of the Davis Street Family Resource Center, and <br />Aisha Knowles, Alameda County Fire Department, addressed the City Council, urging <br />support for Davis Street Family Resource Center's Holiday Toy and Food Basket Program. <br />Ms. Johnson commented that this year's program is being named in honor of retired <br />firefighter Luster Knight, who led the efforts of the Fire Department to collect toys and food <br />for the holiday program, and who recently passed away. <br />6. CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />Mr. Hollister gave a brief update on the City budget situation and deficit reduction strategies, <br />including possible revenue measures. A preliminary budget will be presented to the Finance <br />Committee in February. <br />
