IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009-006 (2850) <br />RESOLUTION ADDING THE SAN LEANDRO EDUCATION FOUNDATION TO THE LIST <br />OF CITY COUNCIL COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT FUND RECIPIENTS <br />WHEREAS, City Council Community Empowerment Funds have been established to <br />provide financial assistance to local community groups, organizations and programs which might <br />benefit from a nominal financial contribution; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved a list of organizations and groups which are <br />able to receive discretionary funding from City Council Community Empowerment Funds, as <br />directed by the Mayor or City Councilmembers and approved by the City Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Education Foundation has been formed to support San <br />Leandro schools, students and teachers; and <br />WHEREAS, the San Leandro Education Foundation meets the criteria for a group eligible <br />to receive a donation of Community Empowerment Funds as established in the City Council <br />Guidelines Regarding the Use of Community Empowerment Funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the San Leandro Education Foundation is hereby added to the list of Community <br />Empowerment Fund Recipients. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Prola and passed and adopted this 2"a day of February, <br />2009, by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
