Comments from the members centered around future shelter planning, provisions for <br />shelters, and partnerships with area service providers. Communication with the public is <br />vital, and the members renewed their commitments to communicating and working together. <br />San Lorenzo Unified School District representatives gave an overview of what they have <br />been able to accomplish with a $242,000 grant they received for development of a Safety <br />Plan. <br />• They have updated all emergency procedures. <br />• Personnel at all school sites have been trained in NIMS and TCS. <br />• Training has occurred at the District EOC. <br />• Parent trainings are being offered for family preparedness and information as to what the <br />schools are planning for students in the event an emergency occurs during the school day. <br />• The District has met all state Education Code requirements for emergencies, lock -downs, <br />and sheltering in place. <br />• They are updating site safety plans for first responders, including a secure website where <br />public safety personnel will be able to see diagrams and photographs of all interior and <br />exterior features of the schools. <br />• Walmart and Orchard Supply Hardware are helping to provide safety supplies for the <br />schools. <br />7.
