Sewer Replacement Project - ARRA Funds 3 Apri16, 2009 <br />Fiscal lmnact <br />The grant applications for the projects are valued as follows: WPCP Rehabilitation - $37 million; <br />WPCP Co-generation - $3.3 million; Wicks Boulevard Pump Station Rehabilitation - $1.5 <br />million; Blue Dolphin Pump Station Rehabilitation - $400,000; and Sanitary Sewer Line <br />Replacement -Various Locations - $1 million. <br />Budget Authority <br />The WPCP Rehabilitation project was approved in the 2006-2007 budget; the WPCP Co- <br />generation project was approved by Resolution 2008-014; the Wicks Boulevard Pump Station <br />and the Blue Dolphin Pump Station Rehabilitation were approved in the 2008-2009 budget; and <br />the Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement -Various Locations has been requested as part of the <br />2009-2010 CIP budget. <br />Attachments <br />None <br />CONCLUSION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to sign and file a financial <br />assistance application with the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) for Federal <br />American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) funds for the design and <br />construction of the following projects: Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP) Rehabilitation; <br />WPCP Co-generation; Wicks Boulevard Pump Station Rehabilitation; Blue Dolphin Pump <br />Station Rehabilitation; and Sanitary Sewer Line Replacement -Various Locations. <br />K \AA-C\COLTNCIL~2009\4_APR 06~ARRA Funds for Vazious Sewer Projects MEM.doc <br />
