EXHIBIT A <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Task 1 - <br />PROVIDE ENGINEERING SUPPORT -Engineering support services performed under this <br />task will involve the following: <br />1.1 Perform Project Management and Administration - Perform overall project <br />management and administrative duties for the construction phase of the project. <br />1.2 Attend Pre-Construction and Other Meetings -Attend and participate in pre- <br />construction kick-off meeting, periodic construction meetings. <br />1.3 Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) -Catalogue and track written responses <br />to RFIs received from the Contractor during the construction period. <br />1.4 Clarify the Intent of the Plans And Specifications -Provide clarification to the intent <br />of the project plans and specifications as requested. <br />1.5 Design Support for Construction Change Orders -Provide design services for <br />changes encountered during the construction period. <br />1.6 Review Contractor Initiated Change Orders -Review/evaluate/recommend approval <br />of constriction change orders initiated by the Contractor, <br />1.7 Perform Periodic Field Reviews -Perform periodic field reviews to ensure that <br />construction is adhering to the approved Construction Drawings. Discrepancies <br />encountered, if any, will be recorded and submitted to the Resident Engineer. <br />1.8 Provide Materials and Shop Drawing Reviews -Review /recommend approval of <br />materials and shop drawing submittals made by the Contractor including the following: <br />• Concrete and Asphalt Mix Designs <br />• Miscellaneous Material Submittals <br />• Precast Concrete Pile Shop Drawings <br />• Prefabricated Steel Truss Shop Drawings <br />• Review Rebar Shop Drawings <br />1.9 Assist City Resident Engineer -Provide assistance to the Resident Engineers as <br />requested. A separate accounting will be provided and tracked for each assigned task, <br />1.10 Assistance During Project Close-Out -Participate in final punch list development and <br />other project close-out tasks as requested. <br />1.11 Prepare As-Built Plans - Prepare a record of as-built conditions based upon <br />information received from the Resident Engineer. <br />1.12 Subconsultant Support -Provide support by sub-consultant specialist (Parikh <br />Consultants, Inc.) in the applicable areas of geotechnical engineering. <br />The services will include the observation of the CISS pile driving and CIDH pile <br />construction for the Bay trail Structure from a geotechnical perspective and in accordance <br />with the project plans and specifications. It was assumed that the pile driving for Abutment <br />1 and 5 is estimated to take 1 day each (3 piles per abutment). The pile driving for the <br />piers (one pile each) may take longer than 1 day so we have assumed 5 days for three <br />Consulting Services Agreement between 08-144-39-012 <br />City of San Leandro and Mark Thomas & Company, Inc.-Exhibit A Page 15 <br />
