1N THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009-051 (2012) <br />RESOLUTION COMMITTING $500,000 TO ASSIST DAMS STREET FAMILY RESOURCE <br />CENTER (DSFRC) WITH ACQUISITION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3081 <br />TEAGARDEN STREET <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, Davis Street Family Resource Center (DSFRC) is along-standing nonprofit <br />organization based in San Leandro that provides vital and comprehensive social services for <br />thousands of lower income households and families annually; and <br />WHEREAS, DSFRC is seeking to enhance its long-term financial stability as an <br />organization by acquiring the property located at 3081 Teagarden Street which it currently <br />leases; and <br />WHEREAS, the City faces budget constraints of unknown duration which are a <br />consequence of the severe economic downturn affecting California and the nation, but desires to <br />provide some fmancial support from a viable public funding source to assist DSFRC's purchase <br />of 3081 Teagarden Street and ensure that DSFRC's critical services for the neediest San <br />Leandrans successfully continue into the future. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />1. Commits to providing Davis Street Family Resource Center with $500,000 to <br />assist in the acquisition of the property located at 3081 Teagarden Street in San <br />Leandro. <br />2. Authorizes the City Manager to identify the appropriate City or other local public <br />funding source in the amount of $500,000 for future Council consideration. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Starosciak and passed and adopted this 6th day of April, <br />2009, by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: I!
