CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br /> <br />Mayor Santos led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />B. Roll Call <br /> <br />PRESENT: Members Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens; <br />Mayor Santos <br /> <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Mayor Santos requested a few moments of silence in memory of the fallen police <br />officers from Oakland, CA and Pittsburg, PA. <br /> <br /> <br /> 2. PRESENTATIONS/ RECOGNITIONS <br /> <br /> <br />A.Presentation of the City Solar Award to the City of San Leandro by NorCal Solar. <br /> <br />Marvin Hamon, Board Director of Northern California Solar Energy Association, <br />presented the 2008 City Solar Award to Mayor Santos. Mr. Hamon gave background <br />on NorCal Solar, a non-profit organization which promotes solar education and <br />adoption of solar energy in Northern California. San Leandro was awarded the City <br />Solar Award for taking first place in total watts installed among cities of 25,000- <br />100,000 population, and is based on the installation of 769,450 watts of photovoltaic <br />power in 2007. <br /> <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Joyce Joyner, Fair Housing Counselor for ECHO Housing, accepted the Fair Housing <br />Month proclamation presented by Mayor Santos. Ms. Joyner thanked the Council for <br />its continued support of fair housing in San Leandro. <br /> <br /> Minute Order No. 2009-023 <br />C., Resolution Commending Frank Sidari for His Years of <br />Service on the Board of Zoning Adjustments (approves a ceremonial resolution of the <br />City Council). (1019) <br /> <br />The City Council adopted the resolution commending Frank Sidari for his years of <br />service on the Board of Zoning Adjustments. <br /> <br />M/S/C Starosciak and Souza.
