Mayor Santos stated that the City will follow through with 2nd year <br />commitment to Community Assistant Programs but does not make any promises beyond 2009- <br />10. <br />Councilmember Gregory stated the importance of keeping pools available to public. Mayor <br />Santos instructed staff to research working with the school district. <br />7. Public Comments <br />Corina Lopez inquired when they will know the recommendations toward usage of Proposition <br />WW funds. Hollister stated they should know more by the Finance Committee meeting <br />scheduled on May 19, 2009. <br />Ms. Lopez also inquired on how many people actually use Farrelly Pool. Knudtson stated that <br />9,500 people are registered in the REC-Swim Program however that may include duplicates. <br />Scott McCormick of CARD appealed to the Committee to continue to provide funds towards <br />disaster preparedness. He stated although he understands the crisis the City is bearing, the City <br />of San Leandro has always been the leader and great example to other cities on providing <br />training to the citizens on disaster preparedness. The funding the City has provided, allowed <br />CARD to make disaster kits affordable to citizens. Mayor Santos stated to Mr. McCormick that <br />he should inquire with Home Security of any available grant funds. Mr. McCormick stated he <br />would look into that but asked that perhaps when polling the citizen on the revenue <br />enhancements, the City may include this as well. <br />8. Adjourn <br />The meeting was adjourned at 6:02 p.m. <br />
