Minutes -City of San Leandro City Council Meeting Apri119,1999 Page 3 This being the time and place for the Public Hearing on the above matter, Norm Weisbrod, Associate Planner, gave the staff report and answered questions regarding traffic, parking, and the easement at the tip of the project. It was noted that the Applicant had not been interested in purchasing the easement at this time; but, if it were to be negotiated and offered for a nominal cost, perhaps they would be interested. The Hearing was then opened to the public. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Council and clarified the exact location of the proposed development. He noted, as he sees it, there is no involvement with Redevelopment Agency funds. He stated his support for this proposal and added that the City should not make it difficult for them to develop on this site. There being no further comments from the public, the Public Hearing was closed. M/S/C Galvan and Nardine. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 Mr. Ahern, Applicant, addressed the Council, indicating they would be willing to negotiate the purchase of the easement for a nominal price. The following Motion was then introduced: -- Minute Order No. 99-17, Matter of PD-99-1; Planned Development for a 5,944-Square-Foot Industrial Building; Vacant Property Located at the Southeast Corner of Washington Avenue and San Leandro Boulevard; Assessor's Parcel Number 77D-1410-4-4; Ted Polyzos, Applicant; Buon Tempo Club, Property Owner; IL (PD) Industrial Limited Planned Development Overlay District. (1009) The City Council approved the Planned Development, PD-99-1, Subject to the Conditions of Approval, and requested staff to negotiate the sale of the easement around this parcel to the developer for a nominal fee. M/S/C Galvan and Loeffler. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 -- There was City Council consensus for Council Member Glaze's request to have staff inventory City-owned remnant parcels throughout the City.
