Rules and Communications Committee. -- Minute Order No. 99-33, Matter of Naming Baseball Field at Thrasher Park after Tony Nasimento. (1156/1448) The City Council approved the recommendation of the City Council Rules and Communications Committee and named the baseball field at Thrasher Park "Tony Nasimento Baseball Field." M/S/C Loeffler and Lothrop. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 Vice Mayor Galvan also pointed out the City Council will be considering two, different policies on travel later on the Council Agenda. C. City Council Comments Council Member Lothrop commented on her concern with the amount of inaccurate information being circulated within the community about various issues and the need for them to have accurate information. 2. Council Member Loeffler said the City Council met with a facilitator in a Workshop recently to improve communications. He commented further on the inadequacy of the Council dais. He feels the Facilities Committee should review whether or not the Council dais should be reconfigured to better meet the needs of the City Council, as well as provide better communications with the public during meetings. - Minute Order No. 99-34, Matter of Reconfiguration of the City Council Chambers Dais. (1156) The City Council, by consensus, supported Council Member Loefner's recommendation to refer the matter of the reconfiguration of the City Council Chambers Dais to the City Council Facilities Committee for review and recommendation to the full City Council. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 In addition, Council Member Loeffler commented on the upcoming meeting with the San Leandro School District scheduled for tomorrow and that the issue of weeds needs to be addressed, as it relates to railroad tracks. 3. Council Member Glaze commented on the need for assistance for the hearing impaired in the City Council Chambers.
