The City Clerk read the entire letter <br />into the record. <br />The following Motion was then introduced: <br />-- Minute Order No. 99-47. Matter of A-99-2; Reclassification from CC <br />Community Commercial District to CC (PD) Community Commercial Planned <br />Development Overlay District; and PD-99-2; Planned Development to <br />Construct a 120-Room Hotel and a 150,000-Square-Foot, Self-Storage <br />Facility; 524-526 Lewelling Boulevard; Assessor's Parcel Number 412-11-1.7; <br />K. Carter, Cubix Construction Company, Applicant; S. Boersma, Property <br />Owner. (1099/1009) <br />The City Council continued the matter of A-99-2 and PD-99-2 to the <br />September 7, 1999, City Council Meeting. <br />M/S/C Loeffler and Lothrop. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />5. PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Public Comments are limited to 5 minutes per person, for a total time period of one <br />hour. When you address the City Council, you should fill out a speaker card and <br />submit it to the City Clerk so the order of speakers may be determined and an official <br />record of names and addresses obtained. The public is invited to make any comments <br />related to Agenda items, or other items of public interest, at this time. <br />Given the number of individuals in the audience representing John Muir Middle <br />School, the Mayor asked that Council Member Nardine give a brief report on behalf of <br />the Ad Hoc Committee of the City Council formed to solicit funding for the repair of <br />the pool. <br />Council Member Nardine acknowledged the many organizations, businesses, and <br />others that are rallying around the issue of the pool. She noted the Health Department <br />Inspection Report outlined 12 corrective items, Item #8 being the main issue. She <br />added that the Health Department states the pool, due to bottom chipping, shall be <br />resurfaced to repair the various spots. This shall be done within 180 days of the date <br />of the report, which was May 27, 1999. A written proposal for approval prior to the <br />start of the work must be submitted within 90 days. She continued by stating Manor <br />Swim Team has a draft, written proposal at this time. She added that Vice Mayor <br />Galvan met with the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce CEO, Tom Guarino, and <br />Heidi Finberg, from the Manor Swim Organization, and received preliminary estimates <br />of three different options to rescue the swimming pool. The Mayor is having these <br />estimates confirmed at this time. The first option is designed to immediately correct <br />the Health Department notice by patching the areas which could be done with a <br />
