Report on Closed Session Actions Taken. <br />1. Conference with Labor Negotiators, Government Code Section 54957.6. <br />Agency Negotiators: John 7ermaris, City Manager <br />Steve Harman, Human Resources Director <br />Employee Organization: San Leandro Management Organization <br />San Leandro City Employees' Association <br />The Assistant City Attorney reported that no action was taken. <br />Page 2 <br />2. Conference with Legal Counsel -Anticipated Litigation, Pursuant to Government <br />Code Section 54956.9. <br />Significant Exposure to Litigation 54956.9 (b). <br />No. of Potential Cases: 1 <br />Assistant City Attorney Liane Randolph stated that the City Council directed <br />staff to eliminate the possibility of anticipated litigation by exploring other <br />means to deal with refuse issues; therefore, the City Council plans to cancel the <br />Public Hearing regarding refuse and recycling rate increases on August 2, 1999. <br />3. Conference with Legal Counsel -Existing Litigation, Government Code Section 54956.9. <br />Name of Case: City of San Leandro vs. Port of Oakland <br />The Mayor stated that, in Closed Session, the City Council decided to initiate <br />further litigation against the Port of Oakland. The City has reviewed the <br />Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and believes it still does not <br />provide an adequate environmental analysis of the effects of the Airport's <br />proposed expansion. The City will file a petition this week requesting the court <br />to order the Port of Oakland to conduct further environmental study. <br />4. ADJOURN <br />The City Council adjourned its Closed Session meeting at 7:10 p.m. <br />
