CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. <br />A. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag <br />Councilmember Gregory led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />B. Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Members Gregory, Prola, Reed, Souza, Starosciak, Stephens (arrived at <br />7:10 p.m.); Mayor Santos <br />ABSENT: None <br />2. PRESENTATIONS/ RECOGNITIONS <br />A. Recognition of the Employee of the Quarter, Louie Guillen, Police Officer, Police <br />Department. <br />Officer Louie Guillen was present to receive his award. <br />B. Proclamation Declaring May 14, 2009 as "Bike To Work Day" in San Leandro. <br />Dave Campbell, of the East Bay Bicycle Coalition, accepted the "Bike to Work Day" <br />proclamation presented by Mayor Santos. Mr. Campbell encouraged San Leandro <br />residents to ride their bikes on Bike to Work Day, and everyday. He announced <br />upcoming free bicycle safety classes offered in May, and interested persons can sign up <br />online at vvww.ebbc.or~. <br />C. Proclamation Declaring Apri124, 2009 as "Arbor Day" in San Leandro. <br />Public Works Services Director Mike Bakaldin accepted the Arbor Day proclamation <br />presented by Mayor Santos. <br />D. Proclamation Declaring May 16, 2009 as "Challenge Walk Off Day" in San Leandro. <br />Councilmember Gregory read the "Challenge Walk Off Day" proclamation, and invited <br />members of the audience to participate in the event. The Challenge Walk Off, which <br />will be held at Bancroft Middle School Field on May 16, 2009, is being held in support <br />of the 50 Million Pound Challenge. <br />
