OPEN FORUM <br />Open Forum is limited to 3 minutes maximum per speaker, 15 minutes total. <br />A. Al Rosenga addressed the Council and urged them to consider an election <br />to fill the vacancy created in District 2. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None <br />B. Reports on City Council Committees <br />None <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Council Member Galvan thanked Julian Polvorosa and Ellen Corbett for <br />their service on the City Council. He commented that he was pleased <br />to have served with Julian Polvorosa for the last four years and <br />hopes he will remain active in the community. <br />Council Member Galvan commented that he has enjoyed serving with <br />Ellen Corbett and noted she is a fighter. He stated he is sure she <br />will do an excellent job fighting for San Leandro at the State <br />Assembly level. He concluded by stating they will both be missed and <br />thanked them again for their service to the community. <br />2. Council Member Young stated she, too, has enjoyed serving with both <br />Julian and Ellen, and they will both be missed. She added that she <br />will miss the sparring between Ellen and Gordon. She concluded by <br />thanking Julian for running a clean campaign. <br />Council Member Young also remarked about the success of the recent <br />Cherry Festival. She thanked staff for their assistance and work on <br />the budget. <br />3. Council Member Polvorosa thanked the Council for their kind remarks <br />and stated he has enjoyed his eight years on the Council. He noted <br />i t wi 11 be hard 1 eavi ng office and not coming to Counci 1 Meetings <br />each Monday. He continued by thanking staff for their assistance, as <br />well. Council Member Polvorosa concluded by remarking on what a <br />successful event the recent Cherry Festival was. <br />
