Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting Page - 2 - <br />June 29, 1998 <br />B. Larry Norry, 2532 Williams Street, addressed the Council regarding the <br />process by which the appointments to the other various Council <br />Committees would be made. <br />Council Member Glaze explained that the whole Council will be expressing <br />interest in serving on various Committees and that the new, incoming <br />Mayor will be making suggestions for appointments after their interests <br />are indicated. <br />C. Martin Francis, 964 Dowling Boulevard, addressed the Council regarding <br />the recent Flag Day festivities and thanked the City for their <br />participation. <br />D. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, addressed the Council, asking why <br />the newspaper refuses to transcribe his comments that he submits for the <br />record. He also voiced his displeasure that there were no Minutes from <br />the June 15 meeting available yet. He further questioned the results of <br />the June 2, 1998, Election, as submitted by the Registrar of Voters, and <br />suggested this current Council set them aside and let the new Council <br />act on the results. He further remarked that he had asked the City <br />Clerk for a copy of the official results earlier this afternoon and he <br />was told they were not available. <br />3. NEW BUSINESS <br />A. Matter of Appointment of City Council Member to City Council Committees <br />and Intergovernmental Agency. <br />The following Motions were introduced: <br />- Minute Order No. 98-38, Matter of Appointment of City Council Member <br />to City Council Committees. <br />The City Council appointed Mayor Young to the following City Council <br />Committees: <br />City Council f~emmittees (1156) <br />-- Finance Committee <br />-- City and San Leandro Unified School District Liaison Committee <br />-- City and San Lorenzo Unified School District Liaison Committee <br />M/S/C Polvorosa and 6alvan. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />- Minute Order No. 98-39, Matter of Appointment of City Council Member <br />to an Intergovernmental Agency. (2465) <br />The City Council appointed Mayor Young as Representative to the <br />Alameda County Congestion Management Agency and deferred appointment <br />of an Alternate at this time. <br />M/S/C 6alvan and Lothrop.
