NEW BUSINESS <br />Items removed from the Consent Calendar: <br />S.B Resolution Approving a Contractual Services Agreement with Jerry Haag, Urban <br />Planner, Relating to Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report and Blight <br />Analyses for a Redevelopment Plan for the Proposed West San Leandro/ MacArthur <br />Boulevard Project Area. Cost: $94,000 <br />Council Member Grant stated that she feels this item is related to Item 6.N, which is <br />the West San Lea,ndro/MacArthurBnulevard. RAC item. She also asked if the work <br />could be coordinated with the General Plan work to be done. <br />The City Manager noted the work proposed is the initial step in the process relating <br />to the financial analysis and formation of the Redevelopment Area District, which has <br />a timeline within which it must function. He also noted the General Plan is a <br />comprehensive document for the entire City, regardless of Redevelopment Area <br />issues. <br />The following Resolution was then introduced: <br />Resolution No. 9&113, Resolution Approving a Contractual Services Agreement <br />with Jerry Haag, Urban Planner, Relating to Preparation of an Environmental Impact <br />Report and Blight Analyses for a Redevelopment Plan for the Proposed West San <br />Leandro/ MacArthur Boulevard Project Area. Cost: $94,000 (2323) <br />M/S/C Galvan and Glaze. Ayes: 7; Noes: 0 <br />S.C Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Calling for Bids for <br />Farnsworth/Manor Intersection Improvements, Project No. 98-210-33-053 (provides <br />for street improvements at Farnsworth/Manor intersection, landscape improvements <br />at the four quadrants, and installation of streetlights). <br />In response to a Council question, the City Manager noted the many opportunities <br />this project has had with regard to public input. It was also noted that staff worked <br />with Porky's Pizza on this proposal, and the proposed work should be completed by <br />the end of the year. <br />Council Member Glaze commented that Porky's asked to be included in the four- <br />corner proposal. <br />Council Members Grant and Nardine requested, and staff noted they will provide <br />copies of, the conceptual renderings for the Farnsworth/Manor Intersection. <br />Council Member Loeffler commented on the very positive feelings from merchants <br />regarding this proposal. <br />
