proposed budget for the Marina Boulevard project is $24.4M, with the City of San Leandro <br />funding the Marina Boulevard Interchange improvements. <br />Regarding the Davis Street overcrossing, Councilmember Reed inquired as to the height of the <br />bridge. Keith replied that the height of the bridge will be 17 feet. <br />Regarding the Marina Boulevard project, Councilmember Souza suggested that a neighborhood <br />meeting be held to educate residents in the area about this project. Keith stated that such a <br />meeting would, possibly, be held a bit further into the project. Such a meeting is premature at <br />this point. Councilmember Souza also asked if the Marina Boulevard overpass would be shut <br />down at any point during construction. Keith stated that it would remain open during <br />construction using lane closures as needed. <br />2. Discussion Regarding Project Updates <br />Ken Joseph gave an overview regarding project updates. <br />• Senior Center <br />o Steel framework is being erected <br />o Steel will continue for the next month <br />• Downtown Lighting & Pedestrian Improvements <br />o Reconstruction of the parking lot at West Joaquin is underway (this is the last <br />heavy construction part of the project) <br />o Plaza is nearing completion <br />o Energizing of light fixtures <br />o Landscaping is being installed <br />o Project completion — August 2009 <br />• WashingtonBeatrice/I-880 <br />o Prep work has begun <br />o Public information meeting held on 4/30/09 <br />o Traffic control construction started on 5/11/09 <br />o Locating some previously undiscovered Caltrans underground utilities will lead to <br />a few more nights of work <br />• WPCP Waste Activated Sludge Thickening <br />o Construction continues and could take a year to complete <br />• WPCP Cogeneration (design/build) <br />o 75% design plans <br />o Generators have been purchased <br />• WPCP Rehabilitation Project <br />o Design phase <br />• Wicks and Blue Dolphin Lift Station Replacements <br />o Design phase <br />Facilities and Transportation Committee Page 3 <br />Meeting Highlights 5/12/09 <br />
