Councilmember Sousa expressed some concern for the traffic issues <br />in the area of the Washington /Beatrice project and said that the signs posted are <br />confusing. Ken explained that bags covering the signs that are not currently being used <br />have disappeared causing some confusion. Staff will see that the signs are recovered. <br />There was concern expressed on the loss of one of the two left turn lanes on Beatrice to <br />Washington and the backup of traffic. Staff indicated they would look at signal timing, <br />but are concerned that any benefits on Beatrice would impact Washington traffic. <br />Mayor Santos expressed concern for the traffic conditions on Springlake and feels that <br />they should be addressed. He asked what the accident rate is on the street and what could <br />be done. Keith Cooke had a staff member look into the accidents on Springlake, but none <br />have been reported. <br />2. Discussion Regarding Report on Facilities Condition Assessment <br />Debbie Pollart gave a PowerPoint presentation regarding the Facilities Condition <br />Assessment. She explained the scope of the project and presented the ratings. <br />Discussion ensued. Mayor Santos felt that the "fair" rating is generous on some of the <br />items. Mike Bakaldin pointed out the ratings are subjective. With regard to the "poor" <br />rating, Councilmember Sousa felt that Casa Peralta needed to be addressed. The <br />decorative tiles need to be explained and the historical significance should not be taken <br />away. Mike Bakaldin stated that it is a "Catch 22" with Casa Peralta right now. Debbie <br />
