Section 40. Categories of Appointment <br />The Personnel Rules regarding categories of appointment shall be amended as follows: <br />Probationary Appointment -The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed <br />in Appendix "A" from an employment list to serve the required probationary period for that <br />classification. <br />Provisional Appointment -The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in <br />Appendix "A" as defined in the Personnel Rules. <br />Permanent Appointment -The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in <br />Appendix "A" who has completed the required probationary period in that classification. <br />Temporary Appointment -The appointment of a person to a position in a classification listed in <br />Appendix "A" for a specified duration not to exceed twenty-four (24) months. The City shall <br />provide notice to the Union of all temporary appointments. <br />Section 41. Provisions Applicable to Part-time and Temporary Employees: <br />The following sections of the MOU apply as specified to part-time, permanent part-time and temporary <br />employees as they are defined below: <br />Part-Time: Hourly employees who work 999 hours or less in a fiscal year. Part-time employees shall remain <br />in probationary status. <br />Permanent Part-Time: Hourly employees working affixed-weekly schedule for a minimum of 1,000 hours a <br />year for two consecutive fiscal years. <br />Temporary Full-Time: Employees hired on a project basis up to a maximum of two years unless extended by <br />mutual agreement. <br />SLCEA Applicable MOU Sections <br />Section Title Part-Time Perm.
