The public is invited <br />to make any comments related to Agenda items, or other items of public <br />interest, at this time. <br />A. Susan Riskind-Poulsen, 182 Sunnyside Drive, invited the Council and <br />public to attend the East 14th Street planting project; she thanked the <br />Council and staff for funding and working on the project. <br />B. Joe Collier, 792 Floresta Boulevard, said he represents the Planning <br />Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustments in thanking the Council for <br />the opportunity to attend the Planning Conference in Monterey. He noted <br />one workshop related to regulation of adult-oriented businesses; he said <br />a draft ordinance for cities was made available. <br />C. Carey Walker, 471 Santa Monica, commented on the recent gunfire incident <br />involving the Los Angeles Police Department. He said he is against new <br />taxes and any City salary raises. <br />D. Elaine de Coligny, San Leandro Shelter for Women and Children, thanked <br />the Council for their support for the Bessie Coleman Court project. She <br />reminded the Council to attend the Art Reach event on Sunday, March 23, <br />1997. <br />E. Lou Filipovich, 15376 Laverne Drive, commented on item B under New <br />Business. He asked if negotiations had continued with the property <br />owner. He said he supports the project on Durant Avenue. <br />5. CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Consent Calendar items are typically routine in nature and are considered <br />for approval by the City Council with one single action.
