Minutes - City of San Leandro City Council Meeting <br />November 3, 1997 <br />Page - 9 - <br />The City Attorney responded that it would be just like the cost of <br />enforcing other Ordinances and indicated complaints could be filed <br />regarding the Ordinance by anyone -- residents and/or employees. <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS AND COMMENTS <br />A. Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br />None <br />B. Reports on City Council Subcommittees <br />None <br />C. City Council Comments <br />1. Council Member Lothrop reported on her recent attendance at the <br />Sustainable Building Conference. She indicated she would like an <br />opportunity to give a short presentation to the Council regarding <br />this conference at a future Council Meeting. Council concurred with <br />her request. <br />2. Vice Mayor Loeffler commented on the successful Halloween event which <br />took place in the north area. He also asked if the City would be <br />acknowledging historical corporations in the City during the 125th <br />Anniversary celebrations, noting we should celebrate the corporations <br />that have had a history in San Leandro. <br />The Mayor indicated one of the month's festivities will be dedicated <br />to the history of business in San Leandro. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler reported he had attended a forum on Domestic <br />Violence and indicated there is an information card available that <br />gives step-by-step information on how to get help. <br />Vice Mayor Loeffler concluded by asking if staff was still <br />researching the issue of the standard of cleanliness for public <br />sidewalks. <br />The City Manager responded that staff had contacted the League of <br />California Cities and options are still being reviewed. It was noted <br />San Leandro does not currently have an ordinance on the books that <br />addresses the issue. <br />3. Council Member Glaze commented on the successful Neighborhood Watch <br />Program which took place regarding Washington Manor last week at the <br />Marina Community Center. He requested, with Council's concurrence, <br />that staff research the parking-meter issue and get the numbers as it <br />relates to what parking meters cost the City; i.e., collection costs, <br />maintenance of meters versus "no parking" signs. <br />
