IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-002 (1156) <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVING <br />CONTINUATION OF A REDEVELOPMENT ADVISORY <br />COMMITTEE FOR WEST SAN LEANDRO/MACARTHURBQULEVARD <br />REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA <br />RECITALS <br />WHEREAS, the West San Leandro/MacArthur Boulevard Redevelopment Project was <br />adopted by the City Council of the City of San Leandro by Ordinance No. 99-025, as amended; and <br />WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law did not require the formation of <br />a project area committee at the time of Plan adoption and still does not require the formation of such <br />a committee in an existing project area; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council wished to foster active public participation in the <br />redevelopment process and thus appointed a Citizen Advisory Committee for resident, business and <br />property owner involvement in 1996; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Advisory Committee (RAC) for the project area was <br />subsequently elected in December of 1998 has been meeting regularly since it was formed and has <br />now reached the end of its second three-year term; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, <br />CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The formation of a project area committee is not required by the Community <br />Redevelopment Law, but the City hereby voluntarily chooses to maintain a redevelopment advisory <br />committee on an ad hoc basis. <br />Section 2. The City Council hereby extends the term of office for the residents, business <br />owners, and property owners in the project area listed on Exhibit A of the West San Leandro/Mac <br />Arthur Boulevard Redevelopment Advisory Committee, which shall have a maximum membership <br />of fifteen. <br />
