IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-047 (2022/2991/3025) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR A LAND AND <br />WATER CONSERVATION FUND GRANT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $280,000 <br />TO ASSIST IN FUNDING CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAY TRAIL SLOUGH BRIDGE <br />PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 144-39-015 <br />WHEREAS, Congress under Public Law 88-578 has authorized the establishment of a <br />federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Grant-In-Aid program, providing matching <br />funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for acquiring land and developing <br />facilities for public outdoor recreation purposes; and <br />WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for the <br />administration of the program in the state, and requires the applicant to certify by resolution the <br />approval of applications and the availability of eligible matching funds prior to submission of <br />said applications to the State; and <br />WHEREAS, the Bay Trail Slough Bridge project involves the design and construction of <br />approximately 1,000 feet of the Bay Trail including a 300-foot bridge and is compatible with the <br />requirements of the LWCF Grant-In-Aid program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for a Land and Water <br />Conservation Fund grant in an amount not to exceed $280,000 to assist in funding construction <br />of the Bay Trail Slough Bridge project. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Badger and passed and adopted this 18th day of April <br />?005, by the following called vote: <br />
