IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-100 (3064) <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />M~ )LTI-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 mandates local governments to <br />undertake mitigation planning in order to be eligible to receive post-disaster funding; and <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requires local <br />govenlrrients to establish aMulti-Hazard Mitigation Plan to comply with the requirements of the <br />Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro has undertaken a comprehensive assessment of the <br />hazards, risks and vulnerabilities of the community of San Leandro, identified mitigation strategies <br />and incorporated planning strategies into a "City of San Leandro Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan" <br />which has been reviewed by FEMA and the California Governor's Offices of Emergency Services; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the "City of San Leandro Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan" is a living document <br />and may be updated once every five years or as deemed necessary. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE to <br />adopt the "City of San Leandro Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan" as the City's blueprint for reducing <br />potential losses from disasters. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Santos and passed and adopted this Soh day of July, 2005 by <br />the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Badger, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Starosciak; Mayor Young (6) <br />NOES: None (~) <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Stephens (1) <br />ATTEST: <br />Marian EIanda, City Clerk <br />
