IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-134 (3071) <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />CONSENTING TO THE USE OF REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FUNDS, AWARD OF <br />CONTRACT TO FLUORESCO LIGHTING AND SIGNS, AND APPROPRIATION OF <br />FUNDS FOR THE HISTORY WALK SIGNAGE PROJECT, PROJECT NO. 04-961-83-061 <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, California Redevelopment Law at Health and Safety Code Section 33445 <br />provides that a redevelopment agency may, with the consent of the legislative body, pay all or a <br />portion of the cost of the construction of any building, facility, structure, or other improvements <br />which is publicly owned either within or without the project area; and <br />WHEREAS, on December 5, 2002, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San <br />Leandro (the "Agency") issued $15,935,000 in Tax Allocation Bonds for the Plaza <br />Redevelopment Project Area to assist in financing, in part, the History Walk Signage Project; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro (the "City") did, solicit proposals for construction <br />of the History Walk Signage Project and on or before August 6, 2005, four said proposals were <br />submitted to the Engineering and Transportation Director of the City who has recommended that <br />the proposal hereinafter mentioned is the most qualified for doing said work. <br />WHEREAS, the Agency has made the findings as required by Section 33445 and has <br />determined that no other means of financing the installation of the History Walk Signage Project <br />is available to the community in that the only other possible source of funding is through the use <br />of the City's General Fund, which is pledged for the provision of essential city services for the <br />residents of the City. <br />
