IN THE CITY COUNCII.OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-044 (1022) <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING NO PARKING ON FARGO AVENUE, <br />FROM NORTON STREET TO WASHINGTON AVENUE, ON STREET SWEEPING DAY, <br />BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND 12 NOON <br />Whereas the City Council of the City of San Leandro desires the City to be maintained in a clean <br />and orderly manner; and <br />Whereas street sweeping is a major component of removing debris from the City's streets; and <br />Whereas the street sweepers cannot do an effective job of removing debris while vehicles are <br />parked in the street; and <br />Whereas the Public Works Department has placed windshield flyers on vehicles parked on Fargo <br />Avenue, from Norton Street to Washington Avenue, prior to street sweeping for the last three months; and <br />Whereas vehicles continue to park on these areas of Fargo Avenue, from Norton Street to <br />Washington Avenue, on street sweeping day, thereby being detrimental to the City's street sweeping efforts. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby directs action be taken <br />by City staff to post Fargo Avenue, from Norton Street to Washington Avenue, as No Parking/Tow Away <br />zone, between 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon on street sweeping day in compliance with San Leandro Municipal <br />Code Section 6-1-500. <br />Furthermore, that appropriate enforcement action be taken by the San Leandro Police Department <br />to ensure the removal of vehicles in the No Parking/Tow Away zone on street sweeping day. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Santos and passed and adopted this 12'i' day of April, 2004 by the <br />following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; Mayor Young (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />G~~ <br />ATTEST: <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
