ONSITE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
Construction equipment would be used onsite to maintain roadways, move material and load
trucks. Equipment would include scrapers, front loaders, backhoes, bulldozers, a water truck, and
a grader (see Table 1). In addition, there could be as many as SO equipment operators and
personnel at the site during construction hours. Activities would include site preparation and
earthwork necessary to achieve adequate drying of the dredged material, loading of the haul
trucks with front loaders and/or backhoes, and grading with bulldozers, graders andlor scrapers to
achieve design elevations.
TABLC 1
ANTICIPATED ONSITE EQUIPMENT AND MANPOWER
1) Loading Operation (Duration -Full Time)
2 - D7 CATS
2 - D9 CATS
2 -Graders
2 - 988 Loaders
1 -Semi (8 cyl Diesel) Water Truck
10 -Misc. Supplemental water, in addition to precipitation, is currently
made available through the Shoreline Marshlands enhancement area through a small channel and
an inlet weir structure between the DMMS and the State Lands property. This inundation weir is
designed to allow tidal water in, but not out, until a water depth of approximately six inches is
obtained within as much of the DMMS as possible. Water is typically brought into the DMMS in
December and the site is kept at least partially flooded until the following May. Optimally, the
DMMS would be flooded to have water coverage over 50 percent of the site.
San Leandro DMMS 9 March / 2004
Sediment Removal Nroject
