1N THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2004-106 (105513006) <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />APPOINTING A COMMITTEE TO AUTHOR A BALLOT ARGUMENT <br />IN FAVOR OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY PARCEL TAX MEASURE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has called a Special Election to submit to the voters a <br />question relating to the City of San Leandro's Public Safety Parcel Tax measure; and <br />WHEREAS, Elections Code Section 9282 permits the City Council to prepare an argument <br />in favor of the ballot measure; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE, <br />DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows: <br />SECTION 1. The City Council hereby appoints a committee of the Council consisting of <br />Orval "OB" Badger, Bob Glaze, and Glenda Nardine, to author a ballot argument in favor of the <br />Public Safety Parcel Tax. At the discretion of the Committee, the argument maybe signed by other <br />registered voters authorized to sign ballot arguments. <br />SECTION 2. The ballot argument shall not exceed 300 words and shall be filed in the <br />Office of the City Clerk during regular office hours between July 7 and July 21, 2004. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Nardine and passed and adopted this 6th day of July, 2004 by <br />the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Badger, Grant, Nardine, Santos; Mayor Young (5) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Glaze, Stephens (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
