IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTTON NO. 2004-158 (1925) <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN MASTER PLAN <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan must be updated every three <br />to five years to qualify for many of the bicycle and pedestrian grant funding programs; and <br />WHEREAS, the current Bikeway Plan was adopted in 1997; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council appointed an eight-member citizen-based committee <br />(Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee) that included representation from the City's <br />Recreation and Park Commission, the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority, <br />the San Leandro Police Department and other resident representatives of San Leandro, to guide <br />the development of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisary Committee conducted three public <br />meetings between March and May 2004 to receive public comment and input and to review the <br />Draft Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan provides goals and policies related <br />to the development of bicycle and pedestrian program an facilities as well as identifies projects <br />and project areas; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on the draft Master <br />Plan and recommended approval of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan to the City Council; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan will replace the existing Bicycle <br />Plan, which is part of the Circulation Element of the San Leandro General Plan; and <br />
