IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004-047 (1092) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE CITY'S RETIREMENT SYSTEM AND WHO ELECT <br />TO PARTICIPATE IN ITS PEMHCA HEALTH BENEFITS PROGRAM TO PARTICIlATE <br />IN ITS DEFERRED COMPENSATION/457 PLAN AND TO RECEIVE A CONTRIBUTION <br />OF ONE DOLLAR TOWARD THEIR DEFERRED COMPENSATION ACCOUNT <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has approved a resolution to allow elected officials who are <br />non-members of the City's PERS retirement system to be enrolled in its Public Employees' <br />Medical and Hospital Care Act (PEMHCA) health benefits program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary that such elected official must be in an employer-sponsored <br />retirement system, to which the employer must provide a contribution; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the City Manager is hereby authorized to contribute the sum of one dollar to the <br />deferred compensation/4S7 account of those elected officials of the Gity of San Leandro who are <br />not a member of its PERS retirement system and elect to participate in its PEMHCA health <br />benefits program. <br />Introduced by Councilmember Santos and passed and adapted this 12 day of April, 2004, <br />by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; Mayor Young(7) <br />NOES: None (0} <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />ATTEST: <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
