IN THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITI' OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 025 (1022) <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING NO PARKING ON MARINA BOULEVARD, FROM AURORA <br />DRIVE TO DOOLITTLE DRNE, ON STREET SWEEPING DAY, BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND 12 <br />NOON <br />Whereas the City Council of the City of San Leandro desires the City to be maintained in a clean <br />and orderly manner; and <br />Whereas street sweeping is a major component of removing debris from the City's streets; and <br />Whereas the street sweepers cannot do an effective job of removing debris while vehicles are <br />parked in the street; and <br />Whereas the Public Works Department has placed windshield flyers on vehicles parked on <br />Marina Boulevard, between Aurora Drive and Doolittle Drive prior to street sweeping for the last three <br />months; and <br />Whereas vehicles continue to park on Marina Boulevard, between Aurora Drive and Doolittle <br />Drive on street sweeping day, thereby being detrimental to the City's street sweeping efforts. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby directs action be taken <br />by City staff to post Marina Boulevard, between Aurora Drive and Doolittle Drive, as No Parking/ Tow <br />Away zone, between 8:00 a.rn. and 12 noon on street sweeping day in compliance with San Leandro <br />Municipal Code Section 6-1-500. <br />Furthermore, that appropriate enforcement action be taken by the San Leandro Police Department <br />to ensure the removal of vehicles in the No Parking/Tow Away zone on street sweeping day. <br />Introduced by Council Member Stephens and passed and adopted this 18 day <br />of FPhri,ary 2003, by the following called vote: <br />Members of the Council: <br />AYES: Council Members Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; <br />Mayor Young ~ ~ ~ <br />NOES: None ~ 0 ~ <br />ABSENT: None ~ 0 ~ <br />Attest: ~G%~t.~ <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
