Title 24; G..C.R.) <br />CHAPTER 16. GALIFORNIA STATE LIBRARY <br />Article 5.1. Scope. <br />16-5DD. Applicability. These regulations apply to public library projects for which funds have been granted <br />under the Califomia Reading and Literacy Improvement and Library Construction and Renovation Bond Act of 2000. <br />Educatian Code Sections 19985-20011. <br />Authority: Educatian Cade Section 19992. <br />Reference: Education Code Sections 19989 and 19993. <br />Article ?r.2. Definitions. <br />16-600. Definitions. In this chapter, the following definitions apply: <br />(a) Addendum - a description of a proposed change to the approved, plans or specifications prior to bid for <br />construction. <br />(b) Addition - a project that increases the floor area of enclosed space of an existing building. Addition also means <br />expansion. <br />(c) Architect - an architect holding a valid license under Chapter 3, Division 3, of the. California Business and <br />Professions Code. <br />(d} Assignable Square Footage - the usable space within the defining walls of the building assigned to furniture <br />and equipment but does not include any non-assignable space: <br />(e) Board -the California Public Library Construction and Renovation Board. _ <br />(f} Bond Act -the California Reading and Literacy Improvement and Public Library Construction and Renovation <br />Bond Act of 20D0, Education Code, Sections 19985-20011. <br />(g) Building Gode -the California Building Standards Code, Title 24, California Gode of Regulations. <br />(h} Change order - a description of a proposed change, together with a cost estimate for the change order, <br />prepared fior transmission from the contractor to the project architect or similar official representing the owner. <br />(i) Construction Cost Estimator - an individual who has had responsibility for five or more construction project <br />cost estimates in excess of $1,000,OOD each within the previous 10 years prior fo the Board`s application <br />deadline. <br />(j) Gonstruction Specifications Institute or GSI - a technical association providing product and specification <br />information to its members. <br />(k) ^esign Documents -plans, specifications, and all other documents appropriate for the design phase of a <br />project <br />{I) Division of the State Architect or DSA -the Division of the State Architect, Qepartment of Genera! Services; <br />State of California. <br />(m) Facility - a building used for public library service and operated or intended to be operated by a local jurisdiction <br />to provide public library service.
