IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 126 (1022) RESOLUTION DESIGNATING NO PARKING ON CHUMALIA STREET, FROM EAST 14TH STREET TO THE EAST END; ON HARRISON STREET AND JEFFERSON STREET, FROM CALLAN AVENUE TO CHUMALIA STREET; ON STREET SWEEPING DAY, BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. AND 12 NOON Whereas the City Council of the City of San Leandro desires the City to be maintained in a clean and orderly manner; and Whereas street sweeping is a major component of removing debris from the City's streets; and Whereas the street sweepers cannot do an effective job of removing debris while vehicles are parked in the street; and Whereas the Public Works Department has placed windshield flyers on vehicles parked on Chumalia Street from East 14`h Street to the east end, and on Harrison Street and Jefferson Street from Callan Avenue to Chumalia Street prior to street sweeping for the last three months; and Whereas vehicles continue to park on these areas of Chumalia Street, Harrison Street, and Jefferson Street on street sweeping day, thereby being detrimental to the City's street sweeping efforts. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby directs action be taken by City staff to post Chumalia Street from East l 4"' Street to east end, and Harrison Street and Jefferson Street from Callan Avenue to Chumalia Street, as No Parking/Tow Away zone, between 8:00 a.m. and 12 noon on street sweeping day in compliance with San Leandro Municipal Code Section 6-1-500. Furthermore, that appropriate enforcement action be taken by the San Leandro Police Department to ensure the removal of vehicles in the No Parking/Tow Away zone on street sweeping day.
