IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2003- 12~ (2947) <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AMENDMENT NO. 2 TO <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS AGREEMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF SAN LEANDRO AND ALLIED HOUSING, INC., TO PROVIDE AN <br />ADDITIONAL $250,000 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE <br />HOUSING ALLIANCE PROJECT <br />(22198 and 22200 Center Street, Castro Valley) <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro is committed to the goal of expanding the <br />supply of decent and affordable housing; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has adopted the 2003-04 Consolidated Action Plan <br />that proposes the Housing Alliance Project as one of the actions to increase the supply of <br />affordable housing for special needs and homeless persons; and <br />WHEREAS, Allied Housing, Inc. has requested a HOME grant in the amount of <br />$250,000 for the construction of 28 units of permanent supportive housing for homeless <br />and disabled families; and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed use of funds is permitted under guidelines of the <br />HOME Partnership Act, a federal housing grant program; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Leandro provided Community Development Block <br />Grant and HOME funds for the purchase by Allied Housing, Inc. of the property at 22198 <br />and 22200 Center Street, Castro Valley for the Housing Alliance Project. <br />NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does <br />RESOLVE as follows: <br />
