r <br />IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 131 (2995) <br />RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE USE OF SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AGREEMENTS <br />WITH DENALECT ALARM COMPANY FOR CITY ALARM AND SECURITY SYSTEM <br />INSTALLATION, REPAIR, AND MONITORING SERVICES <br />Recitals <br />WHEREAS, use of a sole source agreement between the City of San Leandro and <br />Denalect Alarm Company, has been requested; and <br />WHEREAS, the City currently maintains a single central alarm monitoring system for <br />fire, intrusion. and security monitoring for all City buildings; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of a variety of service providers has proven to be the cause of <br />disruption of these vital services, and has lead to increased City costs to manage and maintain <br />multiple systems; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of a sole source provider of alarm and security systems is in the best <br />interest of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended waiver of competitive bidding for <br />alarm and security services, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />Waives competitive bidding for installation, maintenance, and repair of the City's alarm <br />and security systems as provided in Sections 1-5-240(b) and 1-6-315 of the Municipal Code. <br />Introduced by Council Member santos and passed and adopted <br />this 2nd day of June 2003, by the following called vote: <br />
