EXHIBIT A
SCOPE OF SERVICES
I. PROJECT PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION
The general purpose of the North Area Storm Drain Study project is to identify remedial long-
term actions, at a conceptual level, to address "drainage problems" in three major and eight
minor drainage basins generally bounded by Durant Avenue, Foothill Boulevard/MacArthur
Boulevard/Grand Avenue, Sybil Avenue/Valita Drive/Elsie Avenue, and East 14th Street (see
figure below). The analysis will discuss improvements necessary to reduce localized
ponding/flooding in the streets, bring the area up to current design standards, and a limited
retrofit approach that can be integrated with future street overlay/reconstruction projects.
The intent of this agreement is for the Contractor to provide conceptual urban storm drainage
designs, recommendations and strategies to minimize/reduce the localized ponding and flooding
that occurs in the subject study area during periods of heavy rain. The scope of work under this
agreement will generally consist of, but not be limited to, review existing survey data, perform
field reconnaissance and data collection, preparation of conceptual designs and cost estimates for
MMS, Inc., CSA Page 3 of l5
North Area storm Drainage Study Project No. 140-31-040
