IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2003- 2 0 2 (10 2 2) <br />RESOLUTION DESIGNATING NO PARKING ON PACIFIC AVENUE, FROM <br />DAMS STREET TO SEELY, ON STREET SWEEPING DAY, BETWEEN 8:00 A.M. <br />AND 12 NOON <br />Whereas the City Council of the City of San Leandro desires the City to be maintained in a clean <br />and orderly manner; and <br />Whereas street sweeping is a major component of removing debris from the City's streets; and <br />Whereas the street sweepers cannot do an effective job of removing debris while vehicles are <br />parked in the street; and <br />Whereas the Public Works Department has placed windshield flyers on vehicles parked on <br />Pacific Avenue, from Davis Street to Seely, prior to street sweeping for the last three months; and <br />Whereas vehicles continue to park on these areas of Pacific Avenue, from Davis Street to Seely, <br />on street sweeping day, thereby being detrimental to the City's street sweeping efforts. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro hereby directs action be taken <br />by City staff to post Pacific Avenue, from Davis Street to Seely, as No Parking/Tow Away zone, between <br />8:00 a.m. and 12 noon on street sweeping day in compliance with San Leandro Municipal Code Section <br />6-1-500. <br />Furthermore, that appropriate enforcement action be taken by the San Leandro Police Department <br />to ensure the removal of vehicles in the No Parking/Tow Away zone on street sweeping day. <br />Introduced by Council Member Badger and passed and adopted this 15th day <br />of September 2003, by the following called vote: <br />Members ofthe Council: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Badger, Glaze, Grant, Nardine, Santos, Stephens; <br />Mayor Young (~) <br />NOES: None (0 ) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />Attest: <br />Marian Handa, City Clerk <br />
