IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- 222 (263912930) <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AN <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY (ACTIA) <br />MEASURE B BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN COUNTYWIDE DISCRETIONARY GRANT <br />FOR THE BAY TRAIL SLOUGH BRIDGE IN THE AMOUNT OF $600,000 <br />WHEREAS, Measure B, a half-cent sales tax to be used toward transportation projects, <br />was approved by voters in Alameda County in 2000 and is administered by the Alameda County <br />Transportation Improvement Authority; and <br />WHEREAS, five percent of Measure B funds are to be used for regional bicycle and <br />pedestrian transportation improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the Bay Trail Slough Bridge project in San Leandro is a regional project that <br />would close a critical gap in the Bay Trail between Oyster Bay Regional Park and the Bay Trail <br />in the Port of Oakland; and <br />WHEREAS, the Bay Trail Slough Bridge project is ranked high on San Leandro's <br />prioritized bicycle projects list. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as <br />follows: <br />That the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to apply for an ACTIA <br />Measure B Bicycle and Pedestrian Grant for the Bay Trail Slough Bridge project in the amount <br />of $600,000. <br />Introduced. by Council Member Santos and passed and adopted <br />this 3rd day of November 2003, by the following called vote: <br />
