B. The City of San Leandro <br />(1) The City shall provide amulti-functional classroom space to accommodate a <br />Science and Environmental Education Learning Center for joint Library and School <br />District use at the Mulford-Marina Branch Library. <br />(2) The City shall furnish the multi-functional classroom space with physical facilities <br />such as desks, chairs, computers, video projection unit, screen, white boards, <br />telephone, media equipment, etc. <br />(3) The City shall make available to public and student clientele current and up-to-date <br />Library technology resources including access to the Internet and paid subscription- <br />based electronic learning databases. <br />(4) The City shall provide comprehensive educational software, CD-ROMs, and print <br />material to improve science, nature, and environmental school activities. <br />(5) The City shall provide specialized print and electronic resource collections in <br />response to curriculum needs, such as Access Science and Facts on File Curriculum <br />Resources and Science Experiments. <br />(6) The City shall train school District professional, para-professional staff, students, <br />parents, and caregivers in a range of computer literacy classes covering introductory <br />and advanced skill levels. These will include, but not limited to, the use of the <br />Library electronic catalog, basic computer skills, introduction to the Internet, and <br />use of specialized library databases. <br />(7) The City shall host library programs related to science, nature, the environment, and <br />other educational and cultural subjects. Hands-on experiences will be emphasized. <br />(8) The City shall invite subject specialists/and or guest lecturers to enhance ]earning <br />opportunities for students to build connections that link science to technology and <br />societal impacts. <br />(9) The City shall host science, environment, and nature-related school assemblies at the <br />Bayside Education Center and invite students from throughout the City to <br />participate. <br />(10) The City shall have responsibility for the Mulford-Marina Branch Library facility <br />operation, maintenance, and management. <br />(11) The City shall provide building and equipment maintenance, including maintenance <br />of all computer equipment. <br />(12) The City shall provide the on-site technical hardware and infrastructure support <br />through the City's Information Management Services Division. <br />5 <br />
