Task 1.1 Supplemental Surveys and Mapping The Contractor shall perform the field surveys to provide detailed information for design purposes if necessary, to supplement the topographic base mapping, which will be provided by the City: • Cross-section existing roadway surface. Maximum 25' intervals. • Provide conform grades for the roadway and back of walk with private properties. • Locate surface utilities. • Provide drainage information including inverts and pipe sizes. • Establish construction control. Task 1.2 Right-of-Way Engineering Right of way engineering has been completed by the City. Proposed right of way limits are to be included in the base mapping files supplied by the City. Determination of right-of-way cost impacts and estimates will be by others. Task 1.3 Existing Utility Information Contractor will contact and obtain utility information, including maps from the utility companies with facilities within the project limits. Based on the utility company maps, City-supplied base mapping and the field surveyed surface utility features, the Contractor will develop a composite master utility file, which will be incorporated into the topographic mapping. The Contractor will coordinate the conformation of the accuracy of these utilities shown on the topographic map with the various utility agencies. The City has begun the process of obtaining approval of the grade crossing modifications from CPUC and has also initiated contact with the various utility companies on relocations that the project requires. The Contractor will include information received from the railroad and utility companies in the contract plans, but the responsibility for design rests with the railroad and the utility companies. The Contractor will assist the City in obtaining design approval from the CPUC. Task 1.4 Miscellaneous Data Collection The Contractor will collect all relevant plans, traffic data, electronic files and reports from the City and others for use in developing base plans. Public agencies and private companies identified by the Contractor and the City as being located within the project limits will be notified by the Contractor that the design phase of the project has begun. The City will send a letter, location map, project schedule and preliminary roadway layout plans generated in the conceptual layout phase to the identified agencies. The recipients of the letter will be asked to verify that the location of their facilities as shown on the layout plans is correct.
