1.07 User Group Focus Group/Design Charrette <br />A focus group meeting will be facilitated with representatives of the organized <br />sports groups and other interests that currently use the facility. The goal of the <br />meeting will be to identify issues that need to be addressed by the project, and to <br />define the participants' project goals and priorities for site improvements. The <br />consultant will facilitate a design charrette in which participants have the <br />opportunity to create conceptual plans for the facility. Templates will be provided <br />and assistance given as participants make decisions regarding where and what <br />types of changes to make to the existing facility. A summary report will be <br />prepared that documents the comments received and decisions made, and includes <br />reproductions of the plans produced in the charrette. <br />1.08 User Group Focus Group/Design Charrette <br />A focus group meeting will be facilitated with representatives of the School <br />District. The format, scope and goals of the focus group would be similar to those <br />described in task 1.07 above. <br />1.09 Draft Program Document <br />Based on the results of the preceding needs assessment activities, a draft program <br />document will be prepared that outlines one or more preferred programs far <br />improvements. Priorities, consensus decisions, and outstanding issues will be <br />summarized. Document will be distributed to the Committee Members. <br />1.10 Committee Meeting #2 <br />A Committee meeting will be held to review and comment on the program <br />document. The consultant will facilitate the discussion and record all comments. <br />A meeting summary will be distributed to all participants. <br />2.0 Alternatives <br />2A1 Prepare Draft Alternative Plans <br />Based on the decisions made during the Analysis and Program Phase, three draft <br />alternative plans will be prepared. It is anticipated that a range of <br />minimum/moderate/major site changes would be illustrated. The major site <br />change alternative will be for 100% demolition of the site and completely new <br />facilities. Documents will he distributed to the Committee Members. <br />2.02 Prepare Illustrative Cross Sections or Sketches <br />Illustrative sections or other sketches (up to six sections or sketches) will be <br />prepared to help illustrate the design intent. Areas such as the site entrance, <br />relationship with adjacent uses, relationships between different site uses, and <br />buffering at the freeway are examples of site design issues that could be illustrated <br />to assist the committee and public better understand the options. <br />Exhibit A Page 3 of 4 <br />6/12/95 Burrell Field Reconfiguration Study <br />
