IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO RESOLUTION NO. 2002- 55 (1955 ) RESOLUTION REQUESTING A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF BOATING AND WATERWAYS RELATING TO THE RELOCATION OF THE MARINA BOAT LAUNCH FACILITY WHEREAS, the City desires to redevelop the Marina parcel commonly known as the "Boatworks" site; and WHEREAS, the reuse of the Boatworks site will eliminate the existing boat launch facility; and WHEREAS, the City is committed to providing continued support to the local boating community by relocating the boat launching facility; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Boating and Waterways provides grants to cities, counties and districts to design and construct marina improvements consistent with their mission to provide small craft harbor development that is environmentally, financially and engineeringly feasible and economically justified; and WHEREAS, no City matching funds are required for said grant, NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of San Leandro does RESOLVE as follows: That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit to the State Department of Boating and Waterways a feasibility study and grant request in the amount of $1,900,000, an amount adequate to construct the needed improvements to relocate the marina launch ramp and execute necessary grant documents upon award by the State of California. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to make all necessary transfers and appropriations upon award of grant monies.
