B. New Library Services
Computer Center Student Learning Activities. As a result of the Needs Assessment,
the City is incorporating a Computer Center into the new Library building. Under this
agreement, one of the primary uses of the Computer Center at the new Manor Branch
Library will be to provide state of the art technology resources for school age children
and their families. The Computer Center will house computer systems with electronic
resources and educational technologies to assist with 4-12 student leanung activities.
The Monroe School Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) supports students
identified as gifted and talented. The program seeks to incorporate high-level content and
performance standards, utilize innovative teaching strategies, and develop enrichment
opportunities to strengthen and challenge students' abilities. This
will provide an additional 33 hours of accessibility per student/per week, at the Manor
Branch Library.
C. Literacy Programming
Family Literacy Center Activities.
