A.Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Letter Amendment to the Agreement Between the City of San Leandro and Alameda County Industries, Inc. (ACI) (extends the franchise agreement for solid waste, recyclables and green waste services for an additional 10 years). Public Works Services Director Mike Bakaldin gave a short PowerPoint presentation, for a rate increase, and the request by the San Leandro Unified School District (SLUSD) for assistance with its solid waste service. Mr. Bakaldin summarized the proposed amendments to the agreement with ACI, and the agreement with SLUSD. Vice Mayor Starosciak congratulated Mr. Bakaldin for his efforts to incorporate the Councilmember Prola agreed, and thanked representative, Louie Pelligrini, for his cooperation. Mayor Santos pointed out that there are three SLUSD schools outside the ACI service area, and three schools in San Leandro that are in the San Lorenzo Unified School District. He commented on the need to find a way to provide service to these schools as well.
