IN THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO <br />RESOLUTION N0.2009-119 (2012/3154/3166) <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN <br />AND AMONG THE CITY OF SAN LEANDRO, DAMS STREET FAMILY RESOURCE <br />CENTER, BRIDGE HOUSING CORPORATION, ALAMEDA COUNTY GENERAL <br />SERVICES AGENCY -CHILD CARE PROGRAM, AND CHILD CARE <br />COORDINATION COUNCIL (4C's) OF ALAMEDA COUNTY REGARDING THE <br />CHILD CARE CENTER IN THE ALAMEDA AT SAN LEANDRO CROSSINGS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Leandro (the "City") approved the Project <br />Vesting Tentative Map (Resolution 2009-027) for the Alameda at San Leandro Crossings, a 100- <br />unit affordable rental housing development located at 1333 Martinez Street, on Apri16, 2009; <br />WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro (the "Agency") <br />approved a $9.1 million development loan from Low and Moderate Income Housing Funds on <br />April 6, 2009, to the nonprofit developer, BRIDGE Housing Corporation ("BRIDGE"), to assist <br />in pedevelopment and construction of the Alameda: <br />WHEREAS, the Alameda at San Leandro Crossings complies and furthers the City's <br />Downtown San Leandro Transit-Oriented Development Strategy certified by the City Council <br />pursuant to Resolution 2007-111 adopted on September 4, 2007; <br />WHEREAS, there is a high demand for child care services in and near downtown San <br />Leandro particularly for low income families and the local workforce, and BRIDGE has <br />determined that a child care center in the 5,400 square foot ground floor space in the Alameda <br />would be a viable and appropriate use of that space; <br />WHEREAS, BRIDGE has selected Davis Street Family Resource Center (DSFRC), an <br />established and experienced social services and child care provider in the City, to operate the <br />child care facility in the Alameda upon completion of the tenant improvements; <br />WHEREAS, DSFRC and BRIDGE have proposed a partnership under a memorandum of <br />understanding (MOU) between the City, BRIDGE, Alameda County and the Child Care <br />Coordinating Council (4C's) of Alameda County during the planning and construction phases <br />regarding tenant improvements for the child care facility in The Alameda; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the San Leandro City Council does RESOLVE as follows: <br />The City hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, or his designee, to execute the <br />memorandum of understanding substantially in the form as attached to this resolution on behalf of <br />the City, and to execute any amendments thereto. <br />
