are or could be impacted by flights, depending on what runways are used, and staff has asked <br />the Noise Office to make a report to the Committee at the November meeting on this study. <br />The Stakeholders Committee has been following the progress of an Environmental Assessment <br />(EA) the Port is doing for improvements to runway safety areas required by the FAA. <br />However, the FAA is allowing the Port to expand the financial undertaking for these projects, <br />so the EA will be expanded before a draft EA is released for public review. <br />Ms. Ornelas commented that the City Council's community member appointments to the North <br />Field, South Field and Noise Forum are all set to expire on December 31. A discussion of an <br />appointment process will be scheduled for the November meeting. <br />Recommendations: <br />None <br />3. Public Comments <br />None <br />4. Committee Member Comments <br />Mayor Santos feels there still needs to be study of approaches into the North Field to see if any <br />relief can be created for the Timothy Drive neighborhood. If the instrument landing system at <br />the North Field could be moved, that could provide some relief. <br />Councilmember Starosciak congratulated Airport staff on their accomplishment in getting the <br />180° departure procedure approved by the FAA. She asked for comments on the recent <br />retirement of Steve Grossman and the current staffing at the airport. Rob Forrester reported <br />that Debra Ale-Flint has been appointed Interim Director of Aviation, and operations managers <br />at the Airport will be rotating through the position of Interim Assistant Director until <br />permanent appointments can be made. Mr. Forrester is currently acting in that assignment. <br />5. Adjourn <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:40 a.m. <br />
