Measure WW and Park Development Fee Funds 2 October 14, 2009 <br />Workshop is to gather public input that the RAPC can use to help develop a <br />recommendation using the following process: <br />• Review Goals, Criteria, Process and Agenda for the day <br />• Review Projects <br />• Answer questions regarding projects <br />• Group Charette: Each group receives a city map, project list, costs and maintenance <br />impact and develops a plan <br />• Groups share their plan <br />• Synthesis of public input <br />December - RAPC develops recommendation to forward to City Council <br />January - RAPC recommendation goes to City Council <br />February - WW Funds requested for specific projects <br />_Analvsis <br />N/A <br />Current City Council Policy <br />N/A <br />Previous City Council Action(s) <br />On December 1, 2008, Mayor Santos created a Measure WW Ad Hoc Committee, and appointed <br />Councilmembers Gregory, Souza. and Starosciak to serve on the Committee. <br />On February 17, 2009, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2009-023, authorizing the <br />application for $3,704,998 in local grant funds from the East Bay Regional Park District <br />(EBRPD) Under Measure WW, the Park Bond Extension, for the acquisition and development of <br />park and recreation lands and facilities in the City. <br />_City Council Committee Review and Action <br />The Measure WW Ad Hoc Committee held three meetings: January 29, February 9 and April 6, <br />2009. At its April 6 meeting, the Committee recommended the use of Measure WW funds as <br />follows: <br />• $250,000 for new park pathways this year; <br />• $988,000 for Marina Park Picnic Area Renovations; <br />• the balance of funds to be dedicated to the San Leandro Family Aquatic Center <br />Competitive Pool. <br />These recommendations were reported to the full Council at the May 18, 2009 City Council <br />meeting. (See Attached) <br />At the City Council Work Session on Monday, September 14, 2009 the City Council directed the <br />Recreation and Parks Commission (RAPC) to determine a recommendation which included <br />public input for the use of Measure WW and Park Development Fee funds and forward it to the <br />City Council. <br />
