CITY COUNCIL REPORTS <br /> <br /> <br />A.Reports on Intergovernmental Agencies <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />B.Reports on Conferences and Seminars <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br /> <br />C.Reports on City Council Committees <br /> <br /> <br />1.Business and Housing Development Committee Meeting of December 10, 2009. <br />Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola provided the Council with copies of the DVD-Mart: <br />He commented on the proposed lea market at <br />700 Marina Boulevard, which the property owner described as a fully enclosed <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Hollister reported that staff plans to bring the Big Box ordinance back to the <br />next Business and Housing Development Committee meeting for further review <br />prior to presenting it to the full City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Souza requested clarification on the process for the proposed use <br />of the 700 Marina Boulevard property. Community Development Director Luke <br />Sims stated that if there was real interest in pursuing the idea, an application <br />would need to be made for a Zoning Code amendment to allow this type of retail <br />use in an industrial district. The application would first be considered by the <br />Planning Commission, then by the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Facilities and Transportation Committee Meeting of December 8, 2009. <br />Accepted as submitted. <br /> <br /> <br />Regarding the meeting on the I-880 southbound HOV lane extension project, Vice <br />Mayor Starosciak noted that the diagram showed the reconstruction of the Marina <br />Boulevard overcrossing, but not of the off ramps. Engineering and Transportation <br />Director Uche Udemezue indicated that changes are proposed for the southbound <br />off ramp, but the northbound off ramp would not change. <br /> <br />Councilmember Prola stated he was glad to see the formation of the Bicycle and <br />Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and expressed interest in being informed of the <br />Committee meeting dates and times. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
